Scientific Advisory Council

Our primary expert body, responsible for ensuring the scientific rigor of all CPS work.

What Members Do

  • Review and grade evidence using our four-tier framework
  • Develop and refine evidence assessment methodology
  • Ensure scientific accuracy of all CPS publications
  • Advise on research priorities and emerging safety topics
  • Contribute expertise to educational resources
  • Participate in quarterly council meetings

Who We're Looking For

  • Researchers in clinical psychology or psychotherapy outcomes
  • Patient safety scientists and healthcare quality experts
  • Clinicians with research backgrounds in therapy effectiveness
  • Consumer advocates with mental health expertise
  • Research methodologists and evidence synthesis specialists
  • Mental health policy researchers and analysts

Terms & Commitments

  • Term: Two-year initial appointment with option for renewal
  • Time: Approximately 5–10 hours per month
  • Meetings: Quarterly full council meetings (virtual) plus ad hoc working groups
  • Compensation: Volunteer (nonprofit). Travel expenses covered for any in-person events

As CPS grows, we plan to establish additional advisory groups.

A body composed of therapy clients and consumer advocates to ensure CPS resources genuinely serve the people they're designed to help.
