1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the website of the Center for Psychotherapy Safety, Inc. (“the Center,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), located at psychotherapysafety.org (the “Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Site.
These Terms of Use constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the Center for Psychotherapy Safety, Inc., a Florida nonprofit corporation (501(c)(3) status pending).
2. Nature of Content
All content published on the Site is for educational and informational purposes only. Content does not constitute:
- Psychotherapy, counseling, or clinical supervision
- Diagnosis or treatment recommendations
- Legal advice or legal representation
- Crisis intervention or emergency services

3. User Accounts
Certain features of the Site may require registration. When creating an account, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to update such information as necessary. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Site for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these Terms. Prohibited uses include but are not limited to:
- Commercial exploitation of Site content without permission
- Automated scraping, data mining, or systematic downloading
- Misrepresenting your affiliation with or endorsement by the Center
- Harassing, threatening, or intimidating other users
- Introducing malware, viruses, or other harmful code
5. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of the Center for Psychotherapy Safety, Inc. or its content providers and is protected by United States and international copyright laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Site for personal, non-commercial, educational purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from Site content without prior written permission.
6. CE Courses
When continuing education (CE) courses are offered through the Site, the following additional terms apply:
- Enrollment in a CE course constitutes acceptance of course-specific terms provided at registration
- CE certificates are issued only upon completion of all required course components
- Refund and cancellation policies are provided at the time of enrollment
- The Center reserves the right to modify course content and scheduling
7. Donations
Donations made through the Site are processed by third-party payment processors. The Center for Psychotherapy Safety, Inc. is a nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) status pending. Tax-deductibility of donations will be confirmed upon receipt of IRS determination. Donation refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.
8. Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites. These links are provided for convenience and informational purposes only. The Center does not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites. You access third-party links at your own risk.
9. Disclaimers
The Site and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. The Center does not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Center for Psychotherapy Safety, Inc., its directors, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Site. Our total liability for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us, if any, in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Center for Psychotherapy Safety, Inc. and its directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal action arising from these Terms shall be filed in the courts of Duval County, Florida.
13. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Site, the parties agree to first attempt resolution through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation is unsuccessful, the parties agree to submit to non-binding mediation before pursuing litigation.
14. Modifications
The Center reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through a notice on the Site. Your continued use of the Site following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any additional terms applicable to specific features, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Center regarding your use of the Site.
